is a Canadian rock band formed in Hanna, Alberta by Chad Kroeger, Mike Kroeger, Ryan Peake and then-drummer Brandon Kroeger (the current drummer of Nickelback being Daniel Adair). The band’s music may be classified as Post-Grunge, along with groups like 3 Doors Down, Finger Eleven, and Daughtry.

Although the founders of the band hail from Hanna, Alberta, a small town east of Calgary, they are now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The band’s name originates from the nickel in change that band member Mike Kroeger gave customers at his Starbucks job—he would frequently say, “Here’s your nickel back”.

The band is signed to EMI at home and Roadrunner Records for the rest of the world. In July 2008, the band signed with Live Nation for three touring and album cycles, with an option for a fourth cycle. The contract includes recordings, touring, merchandise and other rights. ….More

Greatest Hits [Steel Box], from Sony’s German division is devoted to album versions as opposed to the single edits and mixes of Bangles hits like “September Gurls,” “Walk Like an Egyptian,” “If She Knew What She Wants,” “Hero Takes a Fall,” “Live,” “Manic Monday,” “James,” “Complicated Girl,” “Bell Jar,” and “Eternal Flame.”

The running time is exactly 32 minutes, and the sound is state-of-the-art, which means not only nice and loud but with a lot of presence on this CD puts the instruments in your lap and the voices in your ear, drums and rippling guitars filling the room even on cheap speakers.

You have to love little details like the multi-layered guitar parts exposed on their version of Emitt Rhodes’ “Live,” which comes out like a live performance.

(Veronique Marie Line Sanson, according to the ASCAP Songwriter’s Database) (born April 24, 1949, in Boulogne, near Paris, France) is a French singer-songwriter with an avid following in her native country.

She brings a very personal vocal style to the singing of French pop songs. Her voice has a very strong vibrato, which often makes her lyrics difficult to understand. Still nowadays Véronique Sanson is considered as one of the most talented French songwriter, and each of her appearance in the media is an event.

In 1972, her breakthrough album (Amoureuse) was reviewed by many critics as a revolution, and Véronique Sanson became one of the very first French female singer-songwriter to break into stardom.

For more than 30 years, Véronique Sanson has undoubtedly been a prominent artist in her native country. Despite a tumultuous love life and difficulties to overcome her alcoholism, she has never failed in her artistic career, with an impressive series of hits, sold-out concerts, and platinum albums.

Sanson plays piano and guitar.

From 1973 to 1976 she was married to American rock musician Stephen Stills. Their son, Chris Stills, is also a musician.

One of her songs, “Amoureuse”, was covered in the United Kingdom by singer Kiki Dee, and became a major hit in 1973. This song was also covered by Shirley Bassey on many occasions. ….More

Tellier’s first album, L’incroyable Vérité (The Incredible Truth), was released in 2001. Tellier went on tour with Air in support of the album and was joined on stage by world-renowned theremin player Pamelia Kurstin. L’incroyable Vérité is a pop album featuring styles from lo-fi electronica to bizarre cabaret tunes. Its sleeve featured Tellier in full evening dress on the front, while the back of jacket had a shot of him cavorting in a playboy’s pool. He instructed listeners only to listen to the album by candle light. The track, “Fantino”, was chosen by Sofia Coppola for the soundtrack to her 2003 film Lost in Translation. ….More

His third studio album Sexuality was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk. Tellier’s label Record Makers collaborated with retailer American Apparel for an exclusive three month pre-release of the album. Limited edition versions of the Sexuality CD, LP and “Divine” 7″ and 12″ single was sold in all North American American Apparel stores and on the companies website beginning 22 July 2008.

On 7 March 2008, it was announced by Bruno Berberes, head of EBU delegation in France, that Tellier would represent France in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. It was held in Belgrade on 24 May 2008, with Tellier’s song “Divine”. This was the first time in the history of the contest that the nominated French entry was to be performed largely in English, which caused controversy, leading to Tellier pledging to increase the amount of French in the song prior to the competition itself.
